Web3 infrastructure company recently founded by four former Facebook employees has launched a decentralized blockchain platform called Sui, the layer-1 platform for the next generation of decentralised applications.
Through Sui, developers can build decentralised applications on top of the platform’s suite of blockchain services, including a suite of developer tools and libraries, an SDK for building decentralised applications, and a suite of decentralised application services.
The suite aims to simplify the technical implementation and deployment of decentralised applications, helping developers build scalable and secure apps in a matter of hours, not months or years. The company is also offering consulting services to help developers build decentralised applications on the Sui platform.
The company has secured $10 million in Series A funding from a group of investors that includes Trace Underwriting’s Nima Anaraki, Block Capital, and 500 Start-ups.
How is Sui different?
Sui says its use of what it calls “casual ordering” differentiates it from other blockchains. Casual ordering is a system for generating randomness that’s much more efficient than traditional methods. It uses a technique called “malleability” to generate randomness, which has allowed Sui to produce blocks at a faster rate than other blockchains. Malleability refers to the ability for a blockchain to be tampered with without being detected.
For example, it doesn’t require users to learn how to write complicated code in order to use its platform. Instead, users can simply use the platform as if they were using a website or a mobile app. This makes it easier and more accessible for people to use, which is why Sui is seeing increased demand from everyday users.
